Family Fun: A Night of Spooky Stories

A night of live storytelling in creaky Island Center Hall with Islander Maria Potter! The night will get progressively scarier, with breaks in between for families to depart or arrive, as needed.

From 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., the beginning stories will be barely spooky “jump!” tales with squeaky doors and other squeamish delights for the pre-school and elementary crowd.

From 7:30 to 8:15 p.m., shape shifters, lurking fairies, or ghosts or ??? come out. Cast your vote to see what stories arise from the crypt for the preteen crowd.

From 8:30-9:15 p.m. it’s ghost stories for the 13+ crowd with real (or imagined?) ghost stories from around the world. Come meet Yuki-Ona, the Woman of the Snow who only comes out once a year in Maria’s repertoire.

Finally, from 9:15 to 10:00 p.m. you will have a chance to tell your scary story! So practice and be prepared to share a tale of up to 10 minutes, max. Island Center Hall, 8395 Fletcher Bay Rd.
